As a first-generation college student, navigating the college women's soccer recruitment process was extremely challenging. My parents, hailing from the Dominican Republic and not fluent in English, couldn't offer much help. Despite this, I've always dreamed of playing for a Division I school. Coaches, teammates, and even referees saw my potential, telling me I was meant for the big leagues. Although my dreams felt out of reach as a child, I never lost hope. In high school, while many of my teammates committed to incredible programs, I found myself confused about starting my own recruitment process. I sought advice from coaches, but their guidance was limited. By the end of my junior year, with no offers in hand, I took a leap of faith and moved to Spain after graduation. My plan was to play in numerous games, creating highlight reels to send back to coaches in the States. However, an injury threw a wrench in my plans, and I missed out on offers due to the transfer portal closing. Devastated, I returned home and enrolled in a local Division III school. I refused to give up on my dream. I dedicated myself to understanding the recruitment process and worked tirelessly on the field. My efforts paid off when I scored thirty goals in a single season, which led to an offer from UNLV and interest from other top programs. Today, I am incredibly proud of myself for persevering. My faith in God played a crucial role in my journey. Now, I'm eager to share my story and inspire others all while partnering up with special brands like yours.
