Biography

Hello, my name is Gavin Q Murphy and I am a Division I basketball player at TCU whose journey has been shaped by a lifelong passion for the game and a family deeply rooted in basketball. Growing up with two older brothers, Ryan and Luke, who went on to play college basketball at Pitt and Colorado State, respectively, I was inspired from an early age to pursue the sport at a high level. After moving from Connecticut to California, I developed into a standout player at Calabasas High School from 2019–2023 before earning an opportunity as a walk-on at Ole Miss. Determined to continue improving, I transferred to State Fair Community College, where I had a great season. My hard work and perseverance ultimately led me to TCU, completing a journey from high school standout to SEC walk-on, junior college contributor, and Division I scholarship athlete.
