My name is Joshua Solis, I sometimes go by JT though I have no preference. I grew up in Sylmar and went to Sylmar High School located in the San Fernando Valley, California. My primary sport has always been football and I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to continue playing into the collegiate level at University of Redlands where I am a Health Medicine Society major with a Physical Education Minor. My plan is to one day own a gym where athletes can come train and learn, regardless of their situation, as my goal is to pass knowledge on how to become a greater athlete to the youth as it wasn't something that was available to me growing up.
In high school, I finished my 2017-2018 freshman year with a "Junior Varsity MVP" award. During my 2018-2019 sophomore season, I was given the Varsity "Most Improved" award was placed" First Team Valley Mission League Safety". My 2019-2020 Junior year, I received Varsity "Offensive Player of the Year" and "Second Team All City Running Back" followed by participating in several wrestling tournaments and matches through my schools team, placing second and third in my 2 tournaments and winning the CIF championship during season. My senior year was not normal as 2020-2021 had the Covid-19 outbreak. I was able to play on a team outside of my school with "TTP" and "VSG," helping me get in contact with the University of Redlands staff. My school was allowed a 3 game season so there were no awards or rankings given that year to anyone. With a total of 6 offers to different schools I chose the University of Redlands.
