Hello, my name is Mariana Mesones. I was born in New Jersey but raised in Lima, Peru. I have been playing golf since I was 4 years old and have represented the Peruvian national team since I was 12. Throughout my golf career, I have earned nine South American medals and had the opportunity to compete in prestigious events worldwide, including the Pan American Games in Chile and the renowned Junior Open in Scotland. As I prepare to return for my sophomore year at the University of Minnesota, I am proud to hold two program records for shooting career-low scoring rounds.
Since becoming a member of the Peruvian National Team in 2016, I have achieved significant milestones in my golf career. Holding the top spot in the Peruvian National Golf Ranking for five consecutive years. Currently, I am proud to be ranked 263rd in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and hold the third position in all of South America. Being recognized twice as the Big 10 player of the week has been an honor, along with setting two program records at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, competing at the Pan American Games in Chile in 2023 was a memorable experience that further fueled my passion for the sport.
