Maurice Scott is a high-performance rowing athlete competing at an elite level with a focus on coastal rowing and beach sprints as the sport builds toward the LA28 Olympic Games. With over a decade of experience in the sport, Maurice began his rowing journey in Philadelphia, becoming one of the first Division I recruits out of his public school rowing program with an offer to the U.S. Naval Academy. Following a medical setback, he continued his career internationally at the University of New South Wales in Australia, where he competed and earned multiple medals in Australian competition. Maurice is a decorated athlete, including medal performances at the Head of the Charles Regatta and USRowing RowFest Championships, as well as success in beach sprint competitions, one of the fastest-growing disciplines in rowing. In addition to competing, Maurice serves as a rowing commentator and is an official commentator for USRowing, providing coverage at major national events and helping bring the sport to broader audiences. Currently training out of Long Beach Rowing Association, the future Olympic venue for LA28 rowing, Maurice is actively pursuing international competition and Olympic qualification. His journey from inner-city Philadelphia through adversity to competing on global stages brings a unique and compelling story that resonates beyond sport. Combined with his discipline, resilience, and presence both on and off the water, Maurice represents a new generation of athletes who embody performance, storytelling, and culture.
