I’m a Division I swimmer at Howard University, double majoring in Biology and Political Science with a minor in Chemistry. Balancing academics and athletics has taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of hard work—qualities that I apply to everything I do. My faith in God is the foundation of my journey, guiding me through every challenge and success. Despite being miles away from home, I maintain a deep connection with my family, which has taught me the value of loyalty, communication, and staying true to my roots. Just like in my personal life, I bring these same qualities into everything I commit to—showing up, building strong relationships, and always giving my best. I value authenticity, ambition, and meaningful connections, and I’m always looking for opportunities to collaborate with brands that align with my values.
Collegiate Debut at Howard University In October 2024, I made my collegiate debut for the Howard University Bison at the Battle at the Burr meet against Georgetown University. I recorded a time of 58.76 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly, placing fourth and marking the best time in the Northeast Conference (NEC) for that event at that time. International Competition at the 2024 CARIFTA Championships In March 2024, I represented The Bahamas at the CARIFTA Championships. Competing in the 15-17 age category, I earned a bronze medal in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:05.86, contributing to my country's medal tally. High School Swimming at Montverde Academy Prior to joining Howard University, I attended Montverde Academy, where I was an active member of the girls' swimming team. During my junior year, I honed my skills and prepared for collegiate-level competition. Recognition in the Northeast Conference In January 2025, I continued to excel in the pool, contributing to Howard University's strong performances in various meets. My efforts, along with those of my teammates, have been acknowledged in the NEC's swimming and diving releases. Achievement in Music: ABRSM Piano and Theory Exams Alongside my academic and athletic pursuits, I have a deep passion for music. I successfully passed ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) piano and theory exams up to level 5. The ABRSM is an internationally recognized system of music examinations, offering a structured approach to music education. These exams assess musical knowledge, technical ability, and performance skills, and passing up to level 5 represents a high level of proficiency. My music background has taught me discipline, creativity, and focus, which I apply in every area of my life. Community Service in Freeport, Grand Bahama In the aftermath of Hurricanes Dorian and Matthew, I dedicated my time to helping my community in Freeport, Grand Bahama. I assisted with rebuilding efforts, provided support to displaced families, and participated in organizing local relief drives. These experiences deepened my commitment to service and demonstrated the importance of resilience in the face of adversity. Volunteering at the Old Folks' Home My sister and I also volunteer regularly at the local old folks' home, where we read to the elderly residents and provide them with homemade sandwiches. These visits are not only a chance to give back but also to connect with those in our community and spread positivity. Involvement with Grassroots Health I am actively involved with Grassroots Health, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC. Grassroots Health is dedicated to improving urban youth health outcomes by utilizing NCAA Division I athletes to promote health education programs. As part of this initiative, I facilitate games-based health promotion programs in middle schools, focusing on topics such as nutrition, sexual health, and mental well-being. Through this experience, I contribute to the health and wellness of our community while building leadership and communication skills.
